This project's brief was to look at a wayfinding system for the area of Aldgate. We were encouraged to think not only of signage and graphical systems, but to look at the area, community and the varied uses which the space provides at different times of the day and week.

We chose to focus on the Cab Driver as a point of interest, given the situation's interaction with people and place. After researching in detail and spending time in the realm of the mini cab we found many stories and conversations which described the people within the cabs.

Through describing the people of Aldgate we are engaging with the description of the space and a more psychogeographical form of mapping and wayfinding.

We created a website that functions as a growing repository for the conversations and descriptions which take place in the cabs and cab offices in and around Aldgate. The conversations are displayed through a randomised main page giving a fluid and more explorative experience, similar to that of the situationists' dérive.
